Ableton doesn’t have multi channel tracks exactly but the E4L plug-ins will do the decoding and encoding for you. Step Two - Recording or Importing your Ambisonics You’ll need Ableton Live 10 and Max For Live, unfortunately the developer no longer optimises for Ableton 9 (given they’re doing this for free, it is understandable). The cons are that it can be a lengthy process and you may not see a big impact - but try it out! Why not. The benefit of this method is that you have part of the ambisonics depth playable on stereo speakers, which are the industry and consumer standard right now. Although in the stereo decode you will lose some sense of space, you may still have more ‘spatial information’ than if you had recorded your audio in stereo or mono. You might ask ‘why you would go through this lengthy process to go back to stereo?’.
